Daniel Ricciardo wins the Chinese Grand Prix. Valtteri Bottas holds onto to second place while Kimi Raikkonen completes the podium. Max Verstappen crosses the line in fourth but his 10-second penalty drops him to fifth, elevating Lewis Hamilton a place.
Daniel Ricciardo: "Twenty four hours ago I thought I would be at the back of the grid so firstly thanks to the boys, today is the real reward for that work. It was hectic I heard about the safety car in turn 14 and they said to come in. It all happened quickly. It was decisive and I got the win." Regarding his overtakes, Ricciardo said: "Sometimes you have got to lick the stamp and send it. We had the soft tire so knew I could get more out of the breaking."

Vettel continued his supreme dominance
Sebastian Vettel continued his supreme dominance of the 2011 season by winning the inaugural Indian Grand Prix from Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso. Mark Webber was fourth and Michael Schumacher will be delighted to have finished ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg in fifth place, while Lewis Hamilton finished seventh after being involved in yet another collision with Felipe Massa. Vettel's pole to flag victory was his eleventh of the season and the German now has the record books in his sights in matching Schumacher's tally of 13 race wins in a season.
The race itself provided good racing and incident aplenty and was well received by a near capacity crowd at the Buddh International Circuit, a perfect advert for the first running of Formula One in the country.

Australian GP - Press Conference
Australian GP - Press Conference, 25/03/2011. Drivers present: Jérôme D’Ambrosio (Virgin), Nick HEIDFELD (Renault), Sergio Perez Mendoza (Sauber), Paul di RESTA (Force India), Sebastian VETTEL (Red Bull)
Q: Sergio, how did things go for you today? What are your first impressions?
Sergio MENDOZA: I think it was a good day. I felt comfortable towards the end of the session. Tomorrow I need to improve a bit more. Apart from this I think it is a good first day and hopefully tomorrow can go the same way.
Q: This is your first grand prix, although I am sure you have been to grands prix before with GP2 et cetera, what is your first impression of it?
SM: It is very tough, it is very difficult to get the most out of it with the traffic, with the tyres, with all the things you have to be moving which I was not used to. In GP2 you do not have to move anything like this. It is very critical not to get everything right for just one lap but to be consistent as well, so it is quite a big step but overall I am comfortable.

F1 start of season
Formula 1 season opener Albert Park Melbourne, Australia. The wait has been a little longer than anybody anticipated due to the cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix, but on Friday morning Formula One will be back on track in Australia. For the fans the past two weeks have been made all the more agonizing by the amount of unanswered questions building up over the winter. Will the regulation changes improve the racing? Is Mercedes really a front runner? How far is the McLaren off the pace? In Australia all the pre-season pontificating will finally be put straight by some cold, hard results.
Red Bull has been used as the measurement of performance by most the other teams on the grid during pre-season testing this year.
